Graduate Programme x15 posts at SAPS - LEgal Services for unemployed graduates

The South African Police Service hereby invites unemployed graduate who conform to the requirements for a twelve-month graduate’s scheme programme at Division: Legal Services. The graduate scheme programme is part of the National Human Resource Development Strategy and the National Skills Development Strategy.


Generic requirements:

*Be a South African citizen.

*Must be in possession of National Senior Certificate or equivalent (NCV L4)

*Must have no previous criminal conviction(s) or case(s) pending.

*Applicants must be unemployed, never employed in field of the advertised post and never

participated in an internship programme relevant to the field of the post.

* Proof of residential address to be attached.

*Applicants are restricted to apply for only three (3) positions and complete separate application

forms for each post reference number.

Intern categories with minimum requirements:

Graduate Intern: Tertiary Qualification is required.

Student Intern: Practical experience required by the Tertiary Institution for learners to finalise their

qualification (letter from the Institution not older than two (2)years must be attached).

Post : Intern (Legal Administrative Officer) (x2 posts)

Component : Legal Support: Resources

Location : Head Office, Pretoria, Gauteng

Ref Number : LS INT 01/2025

Additional Requirements:

*Be in possession of LLB Degree or BA Law recorded on the National Learner Record

Database (NLRD) on at least NQF 6 or higher level. Computer literacy will be an added

advantage.

Core Functions:

*Provide legal assistance with the drafting of legal documents and correspondence. Assist

with drafting and vetting of contracts and agreements in relation to Technology Management,

Financial Management, Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Development and

Human Resource Utilization. Assist with the research for and drafting of legal opinions for

Technology Management, Finance Management, Human Resource, Training, Financial

Management and Supply Chain Management policies. Assist with the researching and

analysing of court judgments and arbitration awards. Assist with the management of

arbitrations and other dispute resolution procedures where the SAPS are a party. Provide

general legal administrative office assistance.



Post : Intern (Legal Administrative Officer) (x5 posts)

Component : Litigation

Location : Head Office, Pretoria, Gauteng

Core Functions:

*Assist in providing legal assistance in the preparing of legal documents and

correspondence. Assist in preparing and compiling documentary exhibits. Assist with the

conducting of investigations on the facts of the case. Assist in providing assistance with

research on legal matters and analyses of court judgments. Accompany legal officers to

consultations and hearings (court and tribunals) and assist during these. Assist with the

general office administration to ensure the smooth function of the office.



Post : Intern (Human Resource Clerk) (x2 posts)

Section : Human Resource Management and Development

Location : Head Office, Pretoria, Gauteng

Additional Requirements:

*Be in possession of an applicable three (3) year National Diploma / Degree in Human

Resource Management / Public Administration / Business Administration / Administrative

Management / Office Management and Technology, recorded on the National Learner

Record Database (NLRD) on at least NQF 6 or higher level. Computer literacy will be an

added advantage.

Core Functions:

*Assist in handling and maintaining all HRM related functions: Updating leave registers and

leave system’ Processing leave applications; Maintaining a filling system; Maintain all HRM

registers; Receiving and processing transfer applications; Recruitment and selection

process; Process Service terminations and ill health documentation of Data Integrity. Assist

with typing of letters, memorandums, reports, making copies, faxing documents, taking

minutes in meetings when requested.



Post : Intern (Provisioning Clerk) (x2 posts)

Section : Supply Chain Management

Location : Head Office, Pretoria, Gauteng

Additional Requirements:

*Be in possession of an applicable three (3) year National Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain

Management / Logistics / Transport Management, recorded on the National Learner Record

Database (NLRD) on at least a NQF 6 or higher level. Computer literacy will be an added

advantage.

Core Functions:

*Assist with Procurement and Acquisition of goods and Services within Supply Chain

Management; Administer effective and efficient of all Movable Government Property;

Administer effective coordination and maintenance of vehicle fleet management;

Administer and control distribution and utilization of physical resources; Administering of all

aspects of Facility Management including SAPS Buildings, Facilities, leases etc.



Post: : Intern (Finance Clerk) (2x posts)

Section : Financial Management Services

Location : Head Office, Pretoria, Gauteng

Additional Requirements:

*Be in possession of an applicable three (3) year National Diploma / Degree B Com

Accounting / bachelor’s if Accounting Sciences in Financial Accounting / B Com in Financial

Management / Business Administration / Business Management / Cost management and

Accounting / Public Finance Management and Administration, recorded on the National

Learner Record Database (NLRD) on at least NQF 6 or higher level or relevant qualification

in the field of the post.

Core Functions:

*Assist with: Registering correspondence and all related accounting transactions; Compiling

monthly payroll certificate; Verification of overtime claims; Ensuring the safekeeping of all

transactions supporting documents; Assisting in recovering departmental debts within

SAPS; Budgeting and Expenditure; Administration of financial losses; Safekeeping of

Records; monthly telecom related matters; and where applicable, assist in standing

advance office.



Post : Intern (Administrative Clerk) (x2 posts)

Section : Management Information and Strategic Planning

Location : Head Office, Pretoria, Gauteng

Additional Requirements:

*Be in possession of an applicable three (3) year National Diploma / Degree in Human

Resource Management / Public Administration / Business Administration / Administrative

Management / Office Management and Technology, recorded on the National Learner

Record Database (NLRD) on at least NQF 6 or higher level. Computer literacy will be an

added advantage.

Core Functions:

*Handle the administration of telephone accounts. *Maintain an updated computerized and

manual filing system. *Organize an effective and efficient filing system and record keeping.

*Fax, copy and type official documents and correspondence. *Delivery 30 documents/ files

to other departments. *Ensure the proper procurement of standard office stationery and

office equipment. *Ensure stocktaking and office inventory of office equipment and furniture.

*Assist with booking venues for meetings and secure accommodation. *Compile itineraries

and obtain financial authority. *Obtaining of sufficient standing advance. *Process travel

and subsistence claims after return. *Assist with coordination, analysis and verification of

feedback reports.


GENERAL:
