Graduate Programme x10 posts at SAPS - HRM for unemployed graduates (Social Work, HRM, Public Management/ Administration)

The South African Police Service herby invites unemployed graduates who conform to the requirements for participation in a twelve months’ Graduate Recruitment Scheme internship programme at Division: Human Resource Management. The internship programme is part of the National Human Resource Development Strategy and the National Skills Development Strategy.


Generic requirements:

*Be a South African citizen.

*Must be in possession of National Senior Certificate or equivalent (NCV L4)

*Must have no previous criminal conviction(s) or case(s) pending.

*Applicants must be unemployed, never employed in field of the advertised post and never

participated in an internship programme relevant to the field of the post.

* Proof of residential address to be attached.

*Applicants are restricted to apply for only three (3) positions and complete separate application

forms for each post reference number.

Intern categories with minimum requirements:

Graduate Intern: Tertiary Qualification is required.

Student Intern: Practical experience required by the Tertiary Institution for learners to finalise their

qualification (letter from the Institution not older than two (2)years must be attached).

NB: Stipend for each category will be determined by the Divisional Commissioner Human Resource Development.


NATIONAL AND PROVINCIAL LEVEL


Post: Social Work (Interns)

Section: Social Work Services

Location; Head Office Ref No: HRM 01/2025 (2 posts)

Additional Requirements:

*Be in position of BA Social Work Degree, recorded on the National Learner Record Database

(NLRD) on at least a NQF 6 or higher level or relevant qualification in the field of the post.and

valid registration with the South African Council of Social Service Professions (SACSSP) and

paid-up fees for the 2025/2026 financial year

Computer literacy which includes MS Word, MS Power Point will be an added advantage.

Core Functions:

*Rendering comprehensive occupational social work services to the client system by means

of Social Work Services’ Proactively Interventions. Rendering comprehensive occupational

social work services to the client system by means of Restorative Interventions. Render

comprehensive occupational social work services to the client system by means of application

of Social Work Community Work Model. Comply with regard to governance, standards and

Management Information.



Post: Personnel Officer Intern

Section: Personnel Placement and Record

Location Head Office Ref No: HRM 02/2025 (1 post)

Additional Requirements:

*Be in possession of an applicable Diploma, Degree, HRM/ Public

Management/Administration, recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) on

at least a NQF 6 or higher level or relevant qualification in the field of the post.

Core Functions:

*Administer personnel data and administration of verification of qualifications for all SAPS

employees



Post: Personnel Officer Intern

Section: Personnel Placement and Record

Location: Head Office Ref No: HRM 03/2025 (1 post)

Requirements:

*Be in possession of an applicable Diploma, Degree, HRM/ Public

Management/Administration, recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) on

at least a NQF 6 or higher level or relevant qualification in the field of the post.

Core Functions:

*Perform professional secretarial assignments to commander/manager, Plan and organise

meetings/workshop, Maintain effective record and administration services



Post: Provisioning Administrative Intern

Section: Supply Chain Management

Location: Head Office Ref No.: HRM 04/2025 (2 posts)

Requirements:

*Be in possession of an applicable three (3) year National Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain

Management / Logistics / Transport Management, recorded on the National Learner Record

Database (NLRD) on at least a NQF 6 or higher level or relevant qualification in the field of

the post

Core Functions:

*Ensure effective control over government property. Co-ordinate inspection of member’s

equipment (SAPS 108). Assist with the reporting of incidents to Logistical Support Loss

Management. Co-ordinate and maintain the record keeping and efficient administration in the

section. Perform procurement related task



Post: Human Resource Intern

Section: Management of Information and Strategic Planning

Location: Head Office Ref No: HRM 05/2025 (1 post)

Requirements:

*Be in possession of an applicable Diploma, Degree, HRM/ Public

Management/Administration, recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) on

at least a NQF 6 or higher level or relevant qualification in the field of the post.

Graduate Recruitment Scheme 2025/2026 Division: Human Resource Management 3

Core Functions:

*Assist in the facilitation of strategic planning Administer the monitoring and evaluation of

performance Assist in the coordination of specific administration issues



Post: Personnel Officer Intern

Section: Ill Health Retirement

Location: Head Office Ref No: HRM 06/2025 (1 post)

Requirements:

*Be in possession of an applicable Diploma, Degree, HRM/ Public

Management/Administration, recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) on

at least a NQF 6 or higher level or relevant qualification in the field of the post.

Core Functions:

*Receive, check and register ill health applications for completeness and correctness; Submit

recommendations from the Health Risk Manager to senior management for decision-making

on ill health retirement process; Type all corresponding decision letters addressed to the

Provincial Commissioner and Divisions: Appointment letters, Service retention letters, further

Incapacity leave granted and Medical unfit letters; Submit all applications of death on duty

cases to Compensation Fund for adjudication



Post: Personnel Officer Intern

Section: Quality of Work Life

Location: Head Office Ref No: HRM 07/2025 (1 post)

Requirements:

*Be in possession of an applicable Diploma, Degree, HRM/ Public

Management/Administration, recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) on

at least a NQF 6 or higher level or relevant qualification in the field of the post.

Core Functions:

*Co-ordinate the occupational health and safety in the workplace, Monitoring and coordinating the health risk manager (HRM) activities as per contract/SLA, Planning, execution

and participation in quality of Work Life activities through communication, Executing

Occupational Health Care service functions; Implement the required Safety, Health and

Hygiene management system; Review and analyse operational incident investigations, risk

assessment and audit report for quality control and to ensure Hierarchy of control is effectively

applied.



Post: Personnel Officer Intern

Section: Quality of Work Life

Location: Head Office Ref No: HRM 08/2025 (1 post)

Requirements:

*Be in possession of an applicable Diploma, Degree, HRM/ Public

Management/Administration, recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) on

at least a NQF 6 or higher level or relevant qualification in the field of the post.

Core Functions:

*Handle administrative functions within the sub-section; Coordinate HRM financial

authorizations; Maintain the sub-section’s office inventory and storeroom; Administrate the

HIV&AIDS budget by processing of financial authorizations. Report on the administrative

functions.
