APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2025 UNEMPLOYED
LEARNER BURSARY WINDOW NOW OPEN
ONLINE BURSARY SYSTEM APPLICATION OPEN: 11TH AUGUST 2024,
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 11TH SEPTEMBER 2024 AT 23H59
The Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) invites qualifying unemployed learners to apply for bursaries for the
2025 academic year.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
• Learners currently in Grade 12 or who completed matric or NCV (L4) intending to study qualifications selected for the
2025 intake (see qualification list below) • Currently registered students at universities and colleges who require funding
for the 2025 academic year • Aviation students with valid PPL or CPL Commercial divers with matric (Senior Certificate).
Applicants must be studying or intending to study at a University (Public and Accredited Private Institutions), University
of Technology, and either Public or Private Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges. This
includes Accredited Aviation Schools and Accredited Diving Schools.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DOES THE TETA BURSARY FUND?
Qualifications funded through the TETA bursary are dictated by emerging industry needs, hence they change from time to time.
For the 2025 academic year, the following qualifications will be funded:
• (N4-N6) or National Diploma or B Degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
• National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Logistics Management
• (N4-N6) or National Diploma or B Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Road Transport Management
• B Degree in Aeronautical Engineering
• National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Supply Chain Management including Warehouse, Storage and Distribution
• BSc Aeronautical Engineering
• National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Transportation Management
• National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Transport Economics
• National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Risk Management
• National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma, B Degree or Honours Degree in Operations Management
• National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Information and Communication Technology
• National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Health and Safety Management
• National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Business Administration
• National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Financial Management
• National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Maritime or Nautical Studies
• B Degree in Maritime Law
• B Degree in Marine Engineering
• B Degree Law
• BCom Accounting
• BSc in Data Sciences
• Bachelor of Honor’s Degree/Postgraduate Diploma/ bachelor’s degree
• Master’s Degree (Research topics Relevant to the transport sector)
• Doctoral Degree (PhD)- (Research topics Relevant to the transport sector)
• Private Pilot License
• Commercial Divers, Class II, III and IV
• Commercial Pilot License
• Instructor’s Rating
• Instrument Rating
• CPL with ATPL Subjects (Frozen ATPL)
• ATPL (Hour Building)
WHAT DOES TETA BURSARY COVER?
• Tuition • Accommodation (on or off campus) • Transport (where applicable) • Books and meals

APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO USE THE ONLINE BURSARY APPLICATION SYSTEM. HAND-DELIVERED APPLICATIONS MAY NOT BE ACCEPTED.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Certification date should not be older than 6 months
• Applicants must be South African citizens or Permanent Residents
• The bursary will target the youth
• Applicants for the aforementioned qualifications may be preferred.
Note: We encourage applicants to ensure that all required documents are submitted to ensure proper consideration of the application.
Successful applicants will be notified of the application outcome latest by the 31st of December 2024.
