Internship Opportunity: Strategic Planning
Duration: Two Year Programme
Monthly Stipend: R9, 306.18
The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) that facilitates skills development under the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), and supports mine health and safety under the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) for the mining and minerals sector under Skills Development Act (SDA) 97 of 1998 and Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) 29 of 1996, respectively.
The MQA would like to invite qualifying individuals to apply for an internship opportunity within its Strategic Planning Unit. Unemployed individuals who have never participated in an internship programme are invited to apply. This opportunity is only available for South African Citizens. The successful intern will be appointed for a period of twenty-four (24) months.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Strategic Planning; the successful candidate will be exposed to the following functions:
Assist with the compilation and coordination of the Strategic Plan and Annual Performance Plan (APP).
Assist with the coordination of the Funding Policy and Discretionary grants processes review meetings
Assist with the discretionary grants administration process including advertising, processing of applications, assessment, awarding, and disbursement.
Assist with the management and integration of the compliance calendar into MQA planning (Parliament, National Treasury, DHET, Board and sub committees).
Assist with the coordination of statistical reports including quarterly reports and annual performance reporting for the DHET and any other reporting platforms
Assist with the preparations for internal and external audits of the MQA`s ISO Quality Management system.
General administrative support
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in the Human Resources Management/ Development /Administration/ Public Governance/ Administration/Management at NQF 7.
Honours Degree or Postgraduate degree in the Human Resources Management/ Development /Administration/ Public Governance/ Administration/Management at NQF 8 will be an added advantage.
