Purpose of the Job
The purpose of the 12 month internship program is to provide our Shoprite intern(s) with an in-depth understanding of the field of Industrial Psychology/Organisational Development through the practical application of theoretical knowledge, towards their certification as an I/O Psychologist at the end of the contract period.
The intern(s) will be formally supervised by registered Industrial Psychologists within Shoprite. The interns' University of choice will act as the supervising university of the internship.
This internship also affords interns an opportunity to register as an I/O Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
As such, this would be a mutually beneficial working relationship in that, while the intern(s) will be completing a registered I/O internship, it is expected that the intern(s) will also be an integral part of the Group Talent & Resource portfolio, contributing and supporting the work that is performed.
Job Advert Details
Intern(s) will gain exposure across several domains, namely Organisational Psychology, Human Resource Psychology, Career Psychology and Employee Wellness/Wellbeing, Testing and Assessment, Elective(s) and Professional Ethics.
Fully completed Industrial/Organisational Psychology Masters dissertation and coursework by December 2020
Registered with the HPCSA as a Student or Intern Psychologist
Must have secured their own Supervisor at the University that will supervise their internship from an academic perspective
Must be a South African citizen
It would be advantageous for the candidate to have working experience of Human Resources (HR) procedures and practices.
