Closing Date: 03 February 2022 Stakeholder Relations Graduate Trainee Org Structure No: 65007595 OME: Corporate Centre - HR & SR Business Unit: Corp Centre - Gov Relations & SVM City/ Town: Sandton Role Category: Process Implementation Short Description / Purpose of Job The central purpose of this role is to assist the Head of Stakeholder Relations in building and sustaining relationship and reputational capital with key stakeholders applicable to the relevant portfolio (gas supply and energy) through engagement on strategic and contentious issues thereby enabling Sasol to resolve these in a pro-active fashion. Recruitment Description/ Key Accountabilities Stakeholder Engagement
Protecting and enhancing Sasol’s reputation with stakeholders in line with the company’s strategic objectives.
Liaise with the Energy Business (Gas Sourcing, Hydrogen and other energy-related OMEs) to advance stakeholder matters in relation to Sasol’s strategy
Liaise with the Policy and Regulatory Department on draft legislation/policy, as and when required
Ensuring that stakeholder identification, engagement and dialogue, as well as issue resolution is aligned with and support execution of Sasol's Energy business and gas supply strategy;
Assist in the preparation of briefing notes, presentations and stakeholder profiles in order to enable stakeholder engagements
Generate stakeholder insights reports on political trends and key issues that may impact Sasol’s strategy and its relationship with key stakeholders
Conduct research on what key stakeholders e.g., President, ministers, NGOs say about Sasol in the media, or their views/pronouncements related to energy and the environment and how it could potentially impact Sasol’s strategy
Trends and developments in policy and regulation
Reporting on engagement effectiveness and identifying key interventions required to improve stakeholder health particularly trust levels.
Pro-actively identifying events and initiatives that could contribute to constructive relationships with Sasol’s stakeholders.
Assist in the preparation of departmental/GEC/Board reports as required
Liaise with the Mozambique Country Management Office on regional stakeholder matters, where required
Participate in energy-related projects by offering stakeholder relations support and expertise
Support government relations and shared value management in liaising with customers, business units and key stakeholders
Build wide and effective internal and external networks, including strong diplomacy, negotiation and relationship management that would enhance attitudes and behaviors of stakeholders towards Sasol.
Stakeholder and Issues Management Tool
Assist in the roll out and management of the stakeholder and issues management tool
Ensure the smooth functioning of the tool and liaise with service provider where required
Ensure all data is captured and up to date
Track and log media information that may impact Sasol’s business
Customise and generate stakeholder reports
Assist in the planning and preparation of stakeholder engagements
Industry Associations
Assist in the establishment of the Energy Council of South Africa by preparing material, documents, forms and presentation to advance its successful registration, operation and strategic objectives
Support the planning of periodic Energy Council meetings and events
Learning and Development
Undertake self-learning in the discipline of stakeholder relations, focussing on:
Mapping the universe of stakeholders relevant to Sasol
Identification and categorisation of stakeholders
Evaluation and prioritisation of issues and interests
Determination of relevance of stakeholders
Determining required stakeholder participation and engagement levels
Developing stakeholder engagement plans (briefing notes and key messages)
Managing stakeholder and/or reputational risks
Maintain and establish strategic relationships with stakeholders that are key for the advancement of Sasol’s strategy
Leadership and Values Knowledge development and influencing
Participation in knowledge development, management and stakeholder forums with the aim to influence, communicate and coordinate as well as to ascertain stakeholder needs, issues etc.

Qualifications Minimum a Bachelor’s degree (three years) Post graduate degree is an advantage Min Experience 1 - 2 years’ experience in communication, stakeholder engagement, strategy and/or business delivery. SKILLS REQUIRED Power Point Negotiation and communication Advanced Report Writing
