SASOL: Process Controller/Process Artisan

A Process Artisan operates process equipment, systems and processes for a specific plant / unit within the Sasol environment to achieve production requirements in a safe manner


Working shifts - Participates in shift handover meetings through effective plant inspection, risk identification, recording of defects/deviations (log book) and reporting to applicable role playersProvides adequate feedback to supervisor on work progressParticipates in root cause analyses and provides feedback to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) teamsParticipates in risk assessments according to legislation and company requirements to improve safetyMaintains good housekeeping and adheres to waste disposal proceduresWork Independently and do sampling as per scheduleUnderstand and know the business, drives and KPIsContribute to the development of training modules and identifies personal training and development needs which are incorporated into PDP with group leader's approvalConduct on the job coaching of learnersQuality assurance of the product and adherence to all safety regulations and approved work standardsConducts IMS inspections to maintain and improve plant sustainabilityWork effectively in a team and lead by example (walks the talk)Attends and interacts in PDAs and RCAs to improve plant safety and stabilityPlay an important role during emergency situations to get the plant back on lineGive and receive feedback to other disciplines in daily assurance meetingsStakeholder relationship managementParticipate and gives input in “toolbox talks” to improve plant safetyIdentify continuous improvement opportunities in own work area to improve practices and/or equipmentMaking equipment safe for inspection or maintenance activitiesReporting of near misses, incidents and accidents when it happensParticipate in pre-task risk assessments (identify the risks in the work area)Confirm required assurance is given trough effective key undesirable event complianceDocumenting critical plant parameters on relevant log sheetsPerform shift cover dutiesStand in for the foreman when he/she is not aroundIssue permits as part of the work management system JOB REQUIREMENTS Qualifications

National Senior Certificate / completed N3 with Mathematics, Engineering Science / Physical Science and English (Must)Occupational Trade Qualification in Trade: Chemical Operations (NQF4) (Must)Driver’s license Experience
