Position Reports to: Manager Learning and Development Division: Enterprise Design - Enterprise Location: Pretoria - Brooklyn, LEHAE LA SARS Advert Closing Date: 2023/04/21 About the Position The Data Analytics Graduate Programme is to provide recent graduates with the opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of data analytics. The programme includes on-the-job training, mentoring, and structured learning opportunities to equip graduates with the skills necessary to become competent data analysts. Job Purpose To perform division specific functions through the validation of information received and relevant interventions to enable delivery in allocated areas of work, under supervision and guidance. Education and Experience Minimum Qualification & Experience Required

  • BEng (Industrial, Computer, Electronic, Chemical) /BSc (Actuarial, Applied Maths, Statistics) BCom (Informatics, Accounting, Investment management, statistics, Finance, Computer Science)/ BSc (Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Computing)/ National Diploma-Information Technology N. Dip (NQF 6)

  • No experience is required to be eligible for participation in the graduate trainee programme.

Job Outputs: Process

  • Assist in performing operational functions in area of responsibility and updating information on systems where necessary.

  • Identify and resolve basic queries timeously, apply discretion in line with process guidelines provided and escalate unresolved problems.

  • Take accountability for delivery of contracted work outputs within agreed parameters, quality standards and targets.

  • Follow and adhere to individual learner activity manual for the division or business unit.

  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with peers, SARS role players and third parties to achieve predefined objectives.

  • Communication of transactional outputs and queries in area of work according to policies and quality requirements.

  • Contribute to the development & improvement of area specific standards, procedures, and processes to ensure continued quality and service improvement.

  • Contribute to the successful implementation of change initiatives by providing support in area of work.

  • Deliver on contracted performance objectives and escalate unresolved delivery and quality issues to management and process owners.

  • Draw on own knowledge and experience to identify and develop solutions that leads to improved service delivery and quality.

  • Effectively plan and schedule own activities to continuously improve quality and service delivery in area of work.

  • Report on transactional and process activities within set guidelines to provide timely information for decision making.


  • Ensure that completed work adhere to relevant policies, procedures, governance and legislative requirements and report on deviations & discrepancies.

  • Comply to set governance and compliance procedures and processes related to an area of work and continuously identify and escalate risks.


  • Search for, integrate and share new knowledge attained through formal and informal learning opportunities in the execution of your job.

  • Drive own performance and development to achieve and improve on work outputs in line with required response time, quality, and service delivery standards.


  • Adhere to specified policies, standards, legislation, and procedures to prevent wastage on resources, unauthorised expenditure and wasteful expenditure and report violations.
