Sappi Southern Africa Saiccor Mill, Umkomaas Assistant: Laboratory (P16) We are hiring! We’re on the lookout for an experienced Assistant: Laboratory to collect various samples and prepare them for analysis by the technicians as well as delivery of chemicals from TC to the shift lab. As an Assistant: Laboratory, you will be responsible for:

  • Collect effluent, and boiler -water samples amongst others from various points in points in the factory

  • Deliver chemicals and equipment to the shift lab

  • Archive pulp samples

  • Assist in solution preparation when required

  • Create a safe work environment by identifying and managing day-to-day risks

  • Report accidents, injuries, and fires immediately to the Mill Chemist or Safety Representative

  • Do stores housekeeping walkabouts and inspections and take corrective action where required

What are we looking for?

  • NQF4 qualification or Grade 12 with Maths and Science

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
