12 Months contract

Stipend: R70 715.00 per annum

The above mentioned position is available in the Operations department at Robben- Island Museum. Reporting to the

Supervisor Information the incumbent will be responsible to Channel all incoming calls, faxes and post to the relevant RIM employee

and monitor phone usage.

Key Responsibilities:

 Channel incoming calls to the appropriate person or department;

 Take message and e-mail to the appropriate person;

 Provide caller with basic information about RIM;

 Report faulty telephone equipment or switchboard;

 Provide information and update the on-line staff directory;

 Consolidate staff’s phone usage in a spreadsheet for managers;

 Analyse pin code usage and report discrepancies to the appropriate authority;

 Create speed dials for Managers;

 Receive, and distribute post;

 Receive, register and distribute faxes;

 Direct visitors to relevant offices.


 National Diploma in Tourism/ Public Relations or Marketing;

 Computer Literacy;

 Fluency in 2 official languages;

 Oral communication;

 Customer Service Orientation;

 Attention to detail;

 Problem solving.
