ADVERTISEMENT OF RESEARCHER POSITIONS FOR UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES


1. Applicants are hereby invited from unemployed graduates who will support the Limpopo Department of Social Development to conduct a rapid research study on “Factors influencing high rates of Teenage Pregnancy in Limpopo Province’.

2. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications through the Departmental website at https://forms.office.com/r/SYaSHKmMyb , however, hand delivery applications are acceptable, and applicants should submit a covering letter (application letter) accompanied by a detailed curriculum vitae (CV).

3. Applicants are not required to submit certified copies of educational qualifications, academic records and Identity documents. Copies of educational qualifications, academic records and Identity documents will only be submitted by shortlisted candidates to HR on or before the day of the interview.

4. All shortlisted candidates shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One shall be a practical exercise and the other shall be an Integrity [Ethical Conduct], an Assessment as per Directive on Human Resource Management and Development for Public Service Professionalization effective from 01 April 2024.

5. Applicants with foreign qualifications remain responsible for ensuring that their qualifications are evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and to provide proof of such evaluation.

Knowledge and skills

e Knowledge of Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Batho Pele Principles, Legislative and other mandates relevant to the Department of Social Development.

e Knowledge of research protocols and research ethics.

e Must have knowledge of conducting field research / data collection.

e Must be able to speak the local languages in the areas selected for the research project.

e Good listening, verbal and writing skills (i.e. Communication skills).

e Computer skills.


Key Performance Areas

e Conduct face to face interviews at the sites selected for the research project.

e Administer the completion of the research instrument / tool with the research participants.

e Ensure safe keeping of the research data collected

e Atall times adhere to the principles of privacy, confidentiality, and anonymity.

e Attend and participate the stakeholder’s engagements and meetings.

e Compile weekly / monthly work programmes and reports.
