PART-TIME LECTURERS IN THE FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES – DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM MANAGEMENT (PRETORIA CAMPUS)

The Department of Tourism Management, in the Faculty of Management Sciences, requires the services of part-time lecturers for day classes
Department of Tourism Management
• Masters (NQF level 9) or Doctorate Degree (NWF level 10) relating to any of the following fields:
o Casino Resort Management
o Events Management
o Tourism Management
• Knowledge in tourism development, tourism finance, tourism economics, event planning and management, casino security, law (casino, events & tourism), casino finance, tourism practice, casino operations, communication skills & applied languages, tourism geography, tourism human resource management and Work Integrated Learning (WIL).
• At least three years of teaching and/or research experience at a tertiary institution will be required, and/or industry-related experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office and other computer programs.
• Full proficiency in English is a prerequisite.
• Membership in a professional body will be an added advantage.
• Certificate in Assessors & Moderators course will be an added advantage.
• Completion of a TUT License to Teach programme will be compulsory.
Critical Performance Areas
• Preparing and conducting lectures.
• Advanced presentation skills.
• Proven ability in using teaching technology.
• Setting and marking of all assessments.
• Participating in departmental meetings and subject meetings..
• General administration such as capturing test and assignment marks, and uploading documents on myTUTor.
• Uploading module content on muTUTor.
• Student consultation.
