NECSA invites unemployed Graduate to apply for this Internship programme

ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Necsa Group, through Human Capital Development (HCD), is contributing toward skills development by offering a twelve (12) months funded Internship Program.


Requirements:

· Unemployed South African citizens graduates between the age of 18 and 35

· In possession of relevant tertiary qualification in the field specified below.


1 Mechanical Engineering Internship

Department: Utilities And Facilities Management

Qualification: National Diploma Mechanical Engineering

Duties:

Conduct technical investigation relating to the allocated plant.

Conduct feasibility studies for plant expansion as and when required.

Analysis of the job cards to eliminate the high failure rate on components and machinery when applicable.

Monitor the plant performance with the view to improving efficiency.

Monitoring the energy usage of various equipment and machinery.

Investigate the viability of energy-efficient sources.

Ensure that the ECP process is followed on all plant/process changes.

Ensure that all P&IDs are updated to as-built or as-is after every change to the plant.

Plant and process.

Manage the risks to the plant/process by administration process or engineering methods.

Review the scope of works for any plant shutdown.

Conduct inspections on critical equipment during the shutdowns.

Write a technical report for the shutdown.

Run the engineering meetings between maintenance and production.

Compile the assessment plan maintenance plant and the spare plan for the allocated plant.

Draw-up specifications for all the spares required.

Review engineering drawings during plant changes.

Assist maintenance section with URS compilations.



2. Electrical Engineering Internship

Department: Engineering Services

Qualification: National Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Duties:

Electrical testing, maintenance, and installation of equipment and distribution networks, as well as providing support services to the Necsa Group and its subsidiaries (NTP and Pelchem).

To be able to assist with water and electricity readings on a monthly basis.

Assist in the implementation of Energy management system policy for the Necsa Group.

Develop a database for all electrical equipment and quantities as well as their electricity usage to identify saving opportunities.

Assist in Energy Performance certification preparedness for buildings.

The intern must have a driver’s license, and be Computer literate.



3. Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering Internship

Department: NTP Utilities And Facilities Management

Qualification: National Diploma Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering

Duties:

Conduct technical investigations relating to the allocated production unitReview designs, and drawings, and assist in maintaining ASME III, VIII, and ISO standards. Work with the production manager to improve efficiency.

Conduct feasibility studies for manufacturing process improvements, and lean manufacturing analysis of the jobs cards to eliminate the high failure rate on components and machinery when applicable Implement TPM principles.

Assist with Cost estimation, development of QCP, and maintain Quality management systems.

Ensure that all P&IDs are updated to as-

Manage the risks to the plant/process by administration process or engineering methods.

Write a technical report for the manufacturing processes.

Run the departmental meetings between production, planning, quality control, and quality assurance.

Draw-up specifications for all the spares, materials, and other consumables

Review engineering drawings during manufacturing, and review weld maps.




4. Industrial Engineering Internship

Department: Strategy and Business Enablement / Strategy Performance and Productivity

Qualification: Honours Degree in Industrial Engineering

Duties:

Assess, monitor, and enforce effective implementation of license-limiting conditions, adequate safety measures and efficient interventions as authorized in the facility-specific Nuclear Installation Licence associated Safety Case, other authorizations, SHEQ-INS system, and facility-specific documentation.




5. Chemical/Process Engineering

Department: Utilities And Facilities Management

Qualification: National Diploma in Chemical Engineering

Duties:

The importance of employment in the Nuclear Industry, especially in Radio Analysis, Safeguards, Production, and Calibration platforms.

Employee benefits management issues related to sample preparation, data analysis, and reporting; safeguard processes, engaging in everyday production optimisation and inspection of process equipment.

Perform routine laboratory analyses, routine paperwork administration, and/or calibrations that comply fully with the requirements of the policies and procedures of Necsa and the laboratory, applicable legislation, and the expectations of the customers.

Provide engineering and technical support to maintenance and production in the operation of the plant using sound engineering methods and techniques.

Adherence to the relevant Quality Standards, SHEQ-INS, Regulatory, and Statutory requirements as prescribed

Development and validation of laboratory tests methods including validation of standard tests methods




6. Business Administration Internship

Department: Strategy and Business Enablement / Strategy Performance and Productivity

Qualifications: Honours degree in Business Administration

Duties:

Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies

Drive and supervise positive business growth.

Detect wastage and improve efficiency.

Oversee day-to-day business activities.

Introduce and implement innovative short and long-term business goals.

Liaise and consult with clients, staff, and suppliers.

Evaluate and enhance employee performance.

Improve business programs, technologies, and policies.

Negotiate and approve agreements with internal and external stakeholders.
