Internship Opportunity: Monitoring and Evaluation
Duration: Two Year Programme
Monthly Stipend: R 9, 306.18
The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) operating under the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). The MQA is mandated by the Skills Development Act (SDA) 97 of 1998 to drive skills development within the mining and minerals sector (MMS). Its scope covers a diverse range of sub-sectors, including Coal Mining, Gold Mining, Platinum Group Metals (PGM) Mining, Diamond Mining, other mining commodities, Cement, Lime, Aggregates, and Sand, as well as services related to the mining industry, Diamond Processing, and Jewellery Manufacturing.
The MQA would like to invite qualifying individuals to apply for an internship opportunity within its Risk & Compliance Unit. Unemployed individuals who have never participated in an internship programme are invited to apply. This opportunity is only available for South African Citizens. The successful intern will be appointed for a period of twenty-four (24) months.
Reporting to the Monitoring & Evaluation Manager; the successful candidate will be exposed to the following:
The candidate will be exposed to the following areas:
MQA’s Monitoring and Evaluation Framework
Report writing and documentation
Programme Performance Monitoring (Performance Validation)
Assisting in Programme Evaluation Activities (Impact Analysis Studies)
Document Management ensuring ISO Standards are complied with
General administrative support for the Unit
Risk Management
Stakeholder Engagement
May be requested to accompany and assist M&E Personnel on site visits
Minimum Requirements
A grade 12 or matric certificate
Minimum: Postgraduate Diploma / Honours Degree or equivalent at NQF level 8, preferred in Monitoring & Evaluation, Auditing, Accounting, Business Management/Administration, Public Management or Commerce
Competencies: Knowledge, Skills, Attributes
The candidate must possess the following:

Ability to work under
An initiative-taking attitude
Ability to pay attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Office Packages
