Job Description

Introduction


This position will be based at a site close to Aggeneys in the Northern Cape.


Description


The purpose of this position is to provide a condition monitoring service to the Engineering team according to sound engineering standards.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with NCMO/Client Health and Safety responsibilities, legislative and operational requirements

Identify hazards and risks while performing daily tasks and maintenance and take preventative measures

Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations, manufacturing and Company standards to report all defects and defaults on equipment and machinery

Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)

Conduct Condition Monitoring, e.g. Vibration Analysis, Thermograpics, Tribology, Laser Alignment, Thickness’ testing etc.

Schedule and ensure that all condition monitoring activities are performed according to legislative, client and organisational requirements

Record, monitor and report indicators for potential defect / default according equipment and conditioning monitoring standards

Issue Approval / Condemning Certificates to ensure adherence to legislative requirements

Regularly review vibration data for machines / equipment and generate reports to trigger necessary actions, ensuring that reports clearly specify recommended corrective action and timelines thereof

Review thermodynamic performance for critical machines / equipment and issue reports

Keep an action tracking register and establish and maintain electronic data base and data

Perform specialized laser alignment, in situ balancing, vibration analysis, thermograph analyses and data interpretation using applicable software and initiate corrective action or recommendations

Compile various reports according to organisational requirements, e.g. QA/QC, CM and NDT reporting etc.

Assist with recommendations on failed equipment


Qualification Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent

Valid Trade Test Certificate

Vibration & Tribology Analysis Level 1

Thermography Dynamics & IR Analysis Level 1

Laser Alignment Level 1

NDT Methods (UT/PT/MT) – Level 2


Experience and Skills Requirements:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in the mining / mineral processing industry doing NDT, QA/QC, data collection and condition monitoring (CM) analysis

Strong condition monitoring experience

Excellent analytical skills

Strong Computer literacy in MS Office and other job-related software / systems

English language proficiency

Time management

Valid driver’s licence code B, EB or C1

Own transport to attend to call outs
