MILITARY SKILLS DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM (MSDS) 2020

The Military Skills Development System is a two-year voluntary service system with the long term goal of enhancing the SA National Defence Force’s deployment capability.

Successful MSDS candidates will be appointed in a specific mustering and will be called up to a Training Unit, where members will complete their Basic Military Training, specific mustering and functional training in the first year and be utilized or deployed in the second year of the

Requirements:

- 18–22 Years -Completed Grade 12 or Equivalent (N4 - N6 Technical Maths)

- 22–26 Years if in possession of N4 - N6 (Technical)

- Mathematics and Physical Science minimum Level-3

- English as a passed Subject

- RSA Citizen no dual citizenship

- Preferrably single

- Not Area Bound

- No Criminal Record

- Medically and Physically Fit



Requirements

- 26 Years if in possession of a degree with Level - 4 Maths and Science

- 18–24 Years – Completed Grade 12 or or Equivalent (University Entrance) Mathematics and Physical Science minimum Level - 4 (Essential);

English Level - 3 (Essential

- N4 to N5 minimum-60%, N6 or 1st year University of Technology or University minimum–50%

- RSA Citizen (No dual citizenship)

- Preferrably single

- Not Area Bound

- No Criminal Record

- Physically and Medically Fit

- No Hearing Impairment (No hearing aid)

- Have 6/6-eye vision (No contact lenses or corrective lenses or surgery)



Requirements

- South African Citizen (Relinquish any other citizenship).

- Have no record of criminal offences.

- Not be area bound.

- Preferably single.

- Comply with medical fitness requirements for appointments in the SANDF.

- Be free from physical disabilities and not suffer from claustrophobia or a fear of heights.



Requirements:

- RSA Citizen (No dual citizenship)

- Preferably Single

- Not Area Bound

- No Criminal Record

- 26 Years of age if in possession of a Degree or National Diploma

- Physically and Medically Fit

- 18 – 22 Years of age – Completed Grade 12



Requirements:

- No dual citizenship be a South African citizen only

- Grade 12 Applicants must be between the ages of 18-22 years

- Graduates and/or other Tertiary Qualification up to the age of 26 years

- Successfully completed Grade 12 (Average of 50% or level 4)(Mathematics and Science will be advantageous)

- Admission Point Score (APS) of 17 excl Life Orientation (LO)

- Leadership potential

- Not to be area bound

- Have no criminal record or pending cases.

- Comply with medical fitness requirements for appointmen (Minimum height Females 148cm, Males 155cm and Minimum weight Females 48kg, Males 52kg (Within average height/weight ratio)
