The Department of Primary Education in the Faculty of Humanities seeks to appoint

markers at the Soshanguve North campus for the following subjects:

1. Professional Studies and School Based

2. Mathematics For Intermediate Phase and Science &Technology

3. Life Skills and Social Sciences

Key performance areas/Core functions:

• Professional Studies and School Based - Must have knowledge of Professional

studies and School based subjects in General Education and Training from level 1 to

level 4.

• Life Skills and Social Sciences - Must have knowledge of Life Skills and Social

Sciences subjects for the Intermediate Phase in General Education and Training from

level 1 to level 4.

• Mathematics For Intermediate Phase and Science & Technology - Must have

knowledge of Mathematics for Intermediate Phase and Science and Technology

subjects in General Education and Training from level 1 to level 4.

• Must be a strategic and innovative thinker, with excellent conceptualization and

analytical skills of the General Education and Training bands.

• Must be able to work under pressure.

• Should demonstrate academic skills in the curricula processes in accordance with the

current MRTEQ requirements.

• Must be able to work interdependently with others and be a self-starter in marking and

learning activities of the GETs.

• Must meet deadlines in the allocated tasks.


1. Professional Studies and School Based

Academic qualifications:

• A Master of Education (MEd) degree.

• A formal teaching qualification in Foundation Phase/Junior Primary Education (e.g. Bachelor of Education degree, Junior Primary Teacher’s Diploma or equivalent) or in Intermediate Phase


Experience:

• Three years teaching at Tertiary institution in the General Education and Training

(GET) band.

• Knowledge in the following areas of study: Professional Studies and School based

learning (Teaching practice module).

• Specialised in or have taught in the GET Phase for at least 2 years.

• Previous marking experience at the tertiary education institution will be an

added advantage.


2. Mathematics For Intermediate Phase and Science &Technology Academic qualifications:

• A Master of Education (MEd) degree

• A formal teaching qualification in Intermediate/Senior phase (e.g. Bachelor of

Education degree, Senior Primary Teacher’s Diploma or equivalent)

Experience:

• Three years teaching at Tertiary institution in the General Education and Training

(GET) band.

• Taught in the following areas of study: Mathematics for Intermediate phase/ Science

and Technology at the university. Teaching experience in Mathematics and/or Science

and Technology in a school environment will be an added advantage.

• Previous marking experience at the tertiary education institution will be an added

advantage.


3. Life Skills and Social Sciences

Academic qualifications:

• A Master of Education (MEd) degree.

• A formal teaching qualification in Intermediate/Senior phase (e.g. Bachelor of\Education degree, Senior Primary Teacher’s Diploma or equivalent)


Experience:

• Three years teaching at Tertiary institution in the General Education and Training (GET) band.

• Taught in the following areas of study: Life Skills and Social Sciences for the

Intermediate phase at the university.

• Teaching experience in Social Sciences and Life Skills in a school environment will

be an added advantage.

• Previous marking experience at the tertiary education institution will be an added advantage.

NB: Submission of all academic records and certified copies of all qualifications is required.
