POST : PHARMACIST (18 POSTS)

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ABOVE POST:

- Bachelor degree in Pharmacy, registration with SAPC as a Pharmacist, Current registration with SAPC as a Pharmacist. Current registration as a Pharmacist (2020)

SALARY GRADE 1: R693 372.00 per annum

One (1) year relevant experience after registration as a pharmacist with a recognized foreign health professional council in respect of foreign qualified employees of whom it is not required to perform community service as required in South Africa.

SALARY GRADE 3: R821 205.00 per annum

- Thirteen (13) years relevant experience after registration with SAPC as a pharmacist.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

- Unendorsed valid Code B driver’s licence (Code 08)

- Be computer literate with a proficiency in MS Office Software Applications.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TRAINING AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:-

- Knowledge of Pharmaceutical services, policies, procedures and legislations including the essential Drug lists.

- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

- Ability to be active part of the multidisciplinary team.

- Knowledge of essential drug list and the National Drug Policy.

- Commitment to service excellent, good supervisory, analytical and team building skills.

- Appropriate clinical theoretical knowledge.

- Ability to manage conflict and apply disciplinary procedure.


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

- To execute all duties, functions and responsibilities to be best of his/her abilities within all applicable legislation.

- Implementation of the Standard Procedures, good pharmacy practice, norms and standards with regards to the procurement, storage and dispensing of pharmaceuticals.

- Maintain accurate and appropriate statistics and information as required by management in the line with legal requirements.

- Compile and analyse medicine availability reports and take corrective actions to prevent medicine stock outs.

- Implement supplier performance management systems.

- Implement performance management system of all staff within the allocated units.







POST : PHARMACIST ASSISTANTS: (22 X POSTS)

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ABOVE POST: -

- The appointment to Grade 2 requires Grade 12 qualification PLUS, Registration with SAPC as a Pharmacy Assistant (Basic) or registration with the SAPC for study towards Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification. Current registration as a Pharmacist Assistant (2020)

RECOMMENDATIONS:

- Unendorsed valid Code B driver’s licence (Code 08)

- Be computer literate with a proficiency in MS Office Software Applications.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TRAINING AND COMPETENCE REQUIRED:-

- The incumbent of this post will report to the Pharmacy Manager and will be responsible to assist with provision of Pharmaceutical serve in order to facilitate the effective provision of Pharmaceuticals to Dr PIXLEY KA ISAKA SEME MEMORIAL HOSPITAL and associated Clinics,

- The ideal candidate must possess knowledge mathematical ability and computer literacy.


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:-

- Prepacking of medication for patient use.

- Order medication from bulk store.

- Order labels from bulk store, Prepare documentation for pre-packing.

- Clean tablet counters and Spatulas.

- Manufacture or compound medication under the supervision of the pharmacist.

- Order raw materials from bulk store.

- Order labels from bulk store.

- Prepare manufacturing area.

- Close prepacking and manufacturing processes.

- Issue Chronic Medications to the Clinics.

- Order medicines from bulk store.

- Pack medicines for clinics.

- Review clinic orders.

- Organize for delivery of medicine to the clinics.

- Medicine information service.

- Regular in-service for staffs Health talks for patients.

- Provision of medicine information to Doctors and Nurses.

- Catalogue amendment notification and implementation.

- Maintenance of good housekeeping

- Clean shelves regularly.

- Assists in the cleaning of floors.

- Clean all refrigerators regularly, maintenance of schedule for cleaning.



POST : PHYSIOTHERAPIST (6X POSTS):

Grade 1: R317 976 – R361 872 per annum No experience required.

REQUIREMENTS : Appropriate qualification as a Physiotherapist, registration with the Health

Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Physiotherapist.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TRAINING AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:-

- Sound knowledge of Physiotherapy diagnostic & therapeutic procedures,

- Knowledge on use and care of equipment

- Good knowledge on scope of practice, ethical codes & relevant legislation.

- Clinical reasoning and decision making skills,

- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team,

- Good organisation and time management skills,

- Excellent communication and interpersonal relations

- Basic supervisory skills

- Skills in management of patients with cerebral palsy /neurological conditions would be an advantage


KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS

- Comprehensive assessment of all patients using correct diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.

- Development of appropriate treatment programmes for patients.

- Provision of appropriate mobility and seating devices to patients.

- Recording of clinical findings and discussions in patient files.

- Practice holistic management of patients by referring to appropriate disciplines.

- Maintain statistics for clinical and non-clinical tasks.

- Serve as representative on committees such as IPC, OHS, resuscitation etc. as allocated by supervisor.

- Participate in Quality Improvement programmes of the physiotherapy department and institution as requested.

- Involvement in monitoring and evaluation programmes of the physiotherapy department such as clinical and documentation audits, leave and attendance audits, NCS, Ideal Hospital assessment etc.

Participate in regular performance management assessments.

- Participate in staff development activities e.g. CPD, in-service training, case presentations etc.

- Ensure safety and security of equipment and consumable resources of the department.



POST : PHYSIOTHERAPY TECHNICIANS (3 X POSTS)

SALARY : Grade 1: R210 567 – R240 762 per annum – No experience required.

REQUIREMENTS : Appropriate qualification as a Physiotherapy Technician, registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Physiotherapy Technician. Current registration as a Physiotherapy Technician (2020)

DUTIES:- •Conduct basic assessments and carry out treatment in consultation with registered physiotherapists and per scope of practice •Assist physiotherapists with patient treatment sessions •Follow clinical/treatment protocols in a professional manner •Train and educate patients on use of assistive devices. Inform physiotherapist about patient progress •To document treatment carried out •Participate in health promotion activities through education of individuals and the community •Assist with the relevant clinics •Prepare treatment areas and physiotherapy equipment •Compile daily and monthly statistics. Attend monthly staff meetings •Serve as representative on committees such as IPC, OHS, resuscitation etc. as allocated by supervisor• Participate in quality assurance audits •Attend and present topics for continued education sessions •Participate in staff development activities.
