Job Description

This role will use statistical and analytical methods plus AI tools to interpret data and automate specific processes within the organization after interpreting the data, the results must be presented in a clear and interesting way. The objective is to help the organization analyze trends and patterns to make better decisions and ultimately improve its product offering.

Duties and Responsibilities

Data mining and extracting usable data from data sources.

Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis.

Analyzing large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions.

Developing prediction systems and machine learning algorithms.

Utilize advanced analytical techniques, such as machine learning, predictive modelling, and simulation, to gain deeper insights into market dynamics.

Generate reports and presentations that effectively communicate data-driven insights to various stakeholders, including the Exco Team.

Create visually appealing and interactive data visualizations.

Stay updated with the latest developments in data analysis, machine learning, and financial markets to identify opportunities for innovation and improvements within the organization.

Collaborate with Business and IT teams.

Work Closely with the PSec Gears, Quantitative and Development Team.

Engage with various teams in the business to enhance your knowledge across the various asset classes, which will enable you to optimize data analysis and requirements.

Ad-Hoc requests as and when required.


Ideal Experience

This is a graduate position.


Ideal Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualification: BCom / BSc / BBusSci / Hons in a related quantitative finance field (Investments, Analytics, Quant Finance, Stats, Mathematics)

Advanced Excel skills

Intermediate Knowledge of VBA, SQL and Python



JSE and RPE Exams (Willing to write):

Introduction to Financial Markets (RPE)

Regulations and Ethics of the South African Financial Markets (RPE)

Equity Market (RPE)

Bond Market (RPE)

Derivatives Market (RPE)

Most Important Attribute

Registered Persons/Financial market qualifications. (Or willing to complete such exams as required by the business)

Honesty and integrity.

Energetic problem-solver.

Systems Knowledge

Microsoft Office Suite.
