Internship Programme for unemployed graduates at NERSA

The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) is a regulatory authority established as a juristic person in terms of section 3 of the National Energy Regulator Act, 2004 (Act No. 40 of 2004).

NERSA’s mandate is to regulate the electricity, piped-gas and petroleum pipeline industries in terms of the Electricity Regulation Act, 2006 (Act No. 4 of 2006), Gas Act, 2001 (Act No. 48 of 2001) and Petroleum Pipelines Act, 2003 (Act No. 60 of 2003). The structure of the Energy Regulator consists of nine members, five of whom are part time and four are full time, including the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Energy Regulator is supported by a secretariat under the direction of the CEO.


NERSA Internship and Learnership Programmes


NERSA is contributing towards youth and skills development in South Africa through its Internship and Learnership Programmes. These Programmes provide an opportunity for unemployed graduates to gain meaningful workplace exposure and to develop new skills and knowledge.


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for the Twelve (12) Months Internship / Learnership Programmes applicants must:

• Have completed a National Diploma / Diploma (NQF 6), Bachelor’s Degree / B Tech Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) or Postgraduate Diploma / Honours Degree (NQF 8) or Master’s Degree (NQF 9) at a South African University; and

• Be an unemployed South African citizen


The National Energy Regulator of South Africa wishes to recruit Interns and or Learners with appropriate competencies in the following areas:


Legal Advisory Services - Ref: LAS2024

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Law


Information Communication and Technology - Ref: ICT2024

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) or National Diploma (NQF 6) in Information Technology


Information Resource Management - Ref: IMR2024

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Information Science, Information Management

Communication and Stakeholder Management - Ref: CSM2024

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree / B Tech Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Communication/Public Relations/ Marketing/Journalism

Human Resources Management - Ref: HRM2024

NB: Reference numbers and Divisions should clearly be indicated on applications. Applications not reflecting the above will be disqualified and separate applications must be submitted for each application.
