Health & Safety Intern (Balmoral)
Afrimat Contracting International (Pty) Ltd, based in Balmoral has a vacancy for a: Health & Safety Intern
Minimum Qualification / Requirements:
→ National Diploma Safety Management or related.
→ SAMTRAC will be advantageous.
→ COMSOC 1 & 2 will be advantageous
→ Computer Literacy (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook).
→ Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and related mining regulations
→ Good administrative abilities
→ Valid driver's license
→ Exercise due diligence with strong attention to detail
→ Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary (verbal & written).
→ Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
→ Must be able to build and maintain relationships
→ Must align with company values of trust, accountability, integrity, teamwork, respect, and safety.
→ Ability to take initiative and carry out duties independently
→ Must be medically fit for work.
Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):
→ Participate in /conduct Health & Safety inspections and compile reports
→ Maintain and manage operational Health and Safety filing system, ensuring they are complete, up-to-date, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
→ Participate in the internal and external Health & Safety audits.
→ Attend Health & Safety related meetings to ensure proper communication and alignment with Health & Safety objectives.
→ Actively participate in the development and rollout of Health & Safety initiatives and campaigns to promote a culture of safety.
→ Participate in AFRIMAT's Internship Development Programme.
→ Compile site and Health & Safety files.
→ Attend Health & Safety meetings and assist with taking minutes
→ Participate in Incident/Accident investigations / assist recording, reporting, and investigating incidents and accidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and monitored.
→ Participate in HIRA process
