RAND WEST LOCAL MUNICIPALITY
Rand West City Local Municipality, in partnership with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), presents an EPWP Youth Graduate Work Opportunity programme.
Duration: 4 months
Daily stipend: R 247,50

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
• M + 3 (Matric plus 3 years of study) in the following fields of study: Environment, Biodiversity, Conservation, Forestry, Air Quality, Landscaping & Horticulture.
• Youth between 18-35 years of age, people with disability are encouraged to apply, Preference will be given to graduates who are residing in Rand West City area of jurisdiction and South African Citizens.
• Required documents: Application letter, Curriculum vitae, certified copy of qualifications, matric certificate and ID.

Summary of roles and responsiblities: Raising environmental awareness
Position: Climate Change
Summary of roles and responsiblities: Implementing Climate Change programmes.
Position: Environmental Compliance Promotion
Summary of roles and responsiblities: • Conducting field investigations data. • Undertaking research to gather data to inform the enforcement of regulations Promotion of sustainable practices.
Position: Landscaping
Summary of roles and responsiblities: • Assist in designing public parks, gardens, and streetscapes. • Contribute to landscape plans for new developments or urban renewal projects. • Support the integration of sustainable and indigenous planting schemes • Administration and reporting
Position: Nature Conservation
Summary of roles and responsiblities: • Data collection, analysis, reporting, and contributing to conservation efforts. • Assess the state of biodiversity, identify trends and patterns
Position: Urban Greening
Summary of roles and responsiblities: • Participate in tree planting, urban greening, and beautification initiatives. • Help with planning seasonal flower displays or community gardening programmes.
Position: By law enforcement
Summary of roles and responsiblities: • Profiling illegal dumping hotspots • Capturing and taking photographs of illegally dumping hotspots and vehicles. • Enforcing Compliance with all Environmental By-laws
Position: Waste Inspections at Waste Disposal Sites
Summary of roles and responsiblities: • Conducting inspections of waste storage facilities and areas • Conduct information
sessions for reclaimers Monitoring of recycling facilities and waste sorting center's • Supporting recycling initiatives
• Conducting an inspection of buyback center's Preparing issuing of bylaw enforcement notices and fines • Conduct information sessions
