Minimum Requirements
Four years qualifications (NQF 8) in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
Experience in research projects and techniques.
Primary Duties
Development and validation of new analytical methods, or enhancement of existing ones, within the field of Analytical Chemistry.
Execution of complex analyses and provide technical and scientific troubleshooting for analytical methods and laboratory instrumentation.
Documentation and checking of results on the identified databases
Performance and documentation of all quality control checks of identified analytical test according to the ISO 17025 accreditation system.
Undertaking routine and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment and instrumentation including maintaining comprehensive documentation.
Adherence to all Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) practices and uphold excellent housekeeping principles within the work environment.
Knowledge
Knowledge and understanding of analytical chemistry methods and techniques
Knowledge of good laboratory practice (GLP)
Basic statistical knowledge
Knowledge and understanding of Project Management
Skills
Computer literacy in Word Processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to prioritise, organise and plan.
Skilled in the application of analytical methodologies and instrument techniques
Effective written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Attitude
Quality and output driven person who can handle pressure and routine work.
