General Forestry Learnership for matriculants with Maths & Life/Physical Science at SAFCOL

GENERAL FORESTRY LEARNERSHIP

SAFCOL invites unemployed youth (18 — 35 years of age) who wish to pursue a career in Forestry to apply for a 10 month General Forestry Learnership Programme. Successful applicants will participate in a formal and structured one-year Learnership Programme (NQF Level 3), which will consist of accredited theoretical and practical training.

Upon successful completion of the learnership, learners will receive a nationally recognized qualification (General Education and Training Certificate in Forestry NQF 1). Learners will gain work experience that will improve their chances of employment with forestry companies and contractors and also provide opportunities to set up their own SMMEs. Learners will also gain links with the employment networks to get jobs.

A monthly stipend will be allocated to learners for the duration of the learnership. When making the final selection preference will be given to Previously Disadvantaged Individuals i.e. People living with disabilities, females & youth from communities adjacent to SAFCOL plantations and communities we have signed social compacts with.

Location

Learners will be based at the official SAFCOL training center (Platorand) situated at Sabie, Mpumalanga Province.

REQUIREMENTS:

«Must be an unemployed youth (between ages 18 to 35)

«Must have completed and passed grade 12 (matric)

«Must have passed matric with the following subjects; Maths, Life and/or Physical Sciences

«Must have passion for forestry and be willing to work outdoors
