The manufacturing plant in Port Elizabeth produces both small and large volume parenterals.

This vacancy is an opportunity for an individual to gain experience within the Continuous Improvement division.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the OPEX Specialist with the development and implementation of a continuous improvement strategy within the pharmaceutical manufacturing plant.

Provide support with the execution of Continuous Improvement projects, by generating a positive impact on business mainly within the context of safety, quality, delivery and cost.

1.Support and document business transformation, process improvements & lean initiatives through the organization

2.Lead a small improvement project on advise of the OPEX Specialist

3.Support the KPI data management

4.Apply lean tools/ systems (e. g. time and motion, 5s, SMED) when working with site personnel as required

5.Promote cultural change, challenging current business processes

6.Maintain the tracking system of OPEX results within the site in Microsoft Excel (eg. “downtime and reject tracking”)

7.Provide support for the optimisation and definition of work instructions (SOPs)


The minimum requirement is an Industrial Engineering Diploma and a basic knowledge of Lean/ World Class manufacturing.

Intermediate computer skills are required (advanced Excel skills will be advantageous).
