Free State Department of Health: Pharmacist Assistant Post Basic

The certification must be within six (6) months as at the advert closing date. NonRSA Citizens/Permanent Resident Permit Holders must attach a copy of their Permanent Residence Permits to their applications. Should you be in possession of a foreign qualification, it must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA). Applicants who do not comply with the above-mentioned requirements, as well as applications received late, will not be considered. The Department does not accept applications via fax or email. Failure to submit all the requested documents will result in the application not being considered. Correspondence will be limited to short-listed candidates only. Suitable candidates will be subjected to a personnel suitability check (criminal record, qualification verification and employment verification). REQUIREMENTS : Grade 12 or equivalent qualification. Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic) qualification that allows registration with the South African Pharmacy Council. Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic).


Experience:

Grade 1: No Experience after registration with the SACP.


Knowledge and Skills: Valid Driver’s Licence. Knowledge of Basic Computer Programs [Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Good Communication, Planning, organizing and listening skills. Ability to understand and perform routine tasks. Must be prepared to work under pressure. Good interpersonal skills. Suitably qualified candidates from Lejweleputswa will be given preference.


DUTIES : Rendering of comprehensive, professional and quality pharmaceutical services to patients in a clinic in line with relevant policies, standard operating procedures and legislation. Reading and preparation of prescription, the selection, reconstitution (where necessary) of the medicine, the labelling and supply of the medicine in an appropriate container. Dispensing of medication: Giving medicine information and patient counselling in order to supply patients with their prescribed medicines to ensure better health and health outcomes. Stock management, control and monitoring. Proper stock storage and safekeeping. Ensure rational use of medicine. Keeping of statistics and compilation of reports.
