FAIS Ombud invites Information Technology and Computer Science Graduates to apply for this post

ICT Graduate Trainee Programme Pretoria, South Africa

The Office of the Ombud for Financial Services Providers (FAIS Ombud) was established in terms of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 37 of 2002 (the FAIS Act). Its objective is to consider and dispose of complaints in a procedurally fair, informal, economical, and expeditious manner, and by reference to what is equitable in all circumstances. The FAIS Ombud offices are in the east of Pretoria in Gauteng. The purpose of the Graduate Trainee Development programme is to groom the most deserving members of our society and expose them to the working environment. The rationale behind this initiative is to train and empower graduates who have just come out of tertiary institution and do not necessarily have previous work experience. The duration of the programme is twelve (12) months.

Key Performance Areas:

  • IT infrastructure, Operations and Application Management;

  • IT Security, Risks and Continuity Management;

  • IT Service Management;

  • Project Management;

  • Business Analysis;

  • Change Management Processes;

  • Network and Computer systems;

  • ICT Governance


The ideal candidate should have the following:

  • Be an unemployed South African graduate.

  • Have a three-year IT National Diploma or Computer Science, or equivalent qualification.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Strong teamwork skills

  • Energetic and self-driven.

  • Results / Output / Deadline driven.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
