Following an international move by the current post holder, we have an exciting new vacancy in our Springs Finance Team.
We are looking for a Financial Accountant who will be responsible for complete, accurate and timeous recording of financial information.
You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to maintain and manage local and international accounting controls and standards.
In this role you will develop standard accounting procedures to improve financial operating efficiency.
This role is suitable for someone with strong analytical skills who can perform financial analysis, reporting and management tasks to support strategic decision making.
Reporting into the Head of Finance in South Africa, you will manage a team of nine, so you will be an effective and proven people manager.
You will be an advocate and role model of our Company Values.
Duties and tasks
Ensure financial reports are accurate and submitted according to the group reporting calendar.
Ensure financial transactions are updated and recorded in the general and subsidiary ledger.
Review financial data or accuracy, correctness and completeness.
Implement and maintain key internal controls to mitigate risk of fraud and error.
Manage cash controls and reporting according to group standards and timelines.
Manage and assist in accounts payables/receivables activity and controls.
Manage pay office, ensuring statutory compliance, segregation of duties, control account reconciliation and integration to the general ledger.
Reconciliation and maintenance of the fixed asset register.
Preparation of the interim and year end audit file.
Preparation and submission of department of statistics returns.
Perform company secretarial duties.
Prepare statutory Annual Financial Statements.
Ensure the adherence of the all Health and Safety requirements.
B. Accounting Degree/Chartered Accountant.
Computer literacy- Advanced Excel and ERP system skills.
Membership of an Institute of Chartered Accountants or equivalent.
Strong financial management experience in a manufacturing or mining environment.
Coaching/mentoring and training.
Financial, costing, treasury and payroll management.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with broader strategic skills.
