Nature of appointment

Three-year fixed term academic contract (Junior Lecturer)

Permanent academic (Lecturer)



Minimum salary scale (Total Cost to Company) *2020 salary scales to be confirmed

R403 428 (Junior Lecturer)

R539 029 (Lecturer)


Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience

To be appointed as Junior Lecturer:

• LLB or B Proc degree


To be appointed as Lecturer:

• LLM Degree

• At least two years’ teaching/lecturing/industry experience relevant to the subject field(s)


Desired Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience

To be appointed as Junior Lecturer:

• Evidence of progress towards a Masters degree


To be appointed as Lecturer:

• Evidence of progress towards a Doctorate degree

• A combination of lecturing and industry experience (in a reputable law firm or in a legal function) will be advantageous

• Any acknowledged publication, research, innovation or creative output


Note: Preference will be given to qualifying candidates at Lecturer level
