Job Description

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in our Manufacturing department. We are looking for agile talented individuals with relevant skills and experience for an In-Service Trainee: Processing. The successful candidate will report directly to the Unit Manager: Processing


KEY PURPOSE

To provide syrup room support by producing final syrup intended for supply to the production lines. The successful candidate will also be performing checks and analysis on final syrup to ensure adherence to the (Coca-Cola) KORE principles and requirements to produce soft drinks that conforms to all regulatory requirements. The candidate will be exposed to significant levels of automation and process control and will also be required to complete validations on several in-house processes. The successful candidate will be required to assist with investigation and implementation of process optimisation opportunities within the Syrup Room.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


SPECIALIST ANALYSIS

Prepare syrups for production lines.

Use SAP systems to ensure governance and process requirements are met.

Ability to monitor and predict systems and controls.

Conduct process validations.

Be involved in and execute projects where relevant.

Trouble shoot basic automation and control failures.

Conduct specialised quality analyses.

Record the results of analyses on appropriate information systems and communicate results where required.

Conduct analysis of results to identify problems and improvement opportunities timeously.

Where problems or improvement opportunities have been identified, communicate these to the relevant stakeholders.

Apply the principles of lean manufacturing.

Conduct calibration of specialist equipment for which the laboratory is responsible and provide calibration assistance to the shift-based teams where required


QUALITY AUDITING

Conduct required and requested quality audits, completing the appropriate documentation and communicating the results.

Review quality analysis procedures of shift-based teams, identifying problems or training needs and communicating these to the team leader.

Conduct regular audits of calibration procedures of shift-based production teams and communicating results.

Where required, initiate corrective actions arising from quality audits in areas that impact the laboratory and Syrup Room.


PROBLEM SOLVING

Support the shift-based production teams in problem solving, providing specialist assistance and input.

Where required, participate in FFA's as a functional expert.

Where required, ensure that learnings identified in problem solving sessions are incorporated into analytic and other lab procedures


TRAINING

Support the shift-based production teams by assisting in training needs analysis.

Participate in the CAP process, specifically in the assessment of quality analyses competence.

Contribute to the development of training material, specifically in quality analysis.

Where required, assist with the training of shift-based production teams on quality analyses


CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Carry out specialised analyses in support of the evaluation of continuous improvement opportunities.

Determine additional analytic work required evaluating continuous improvement opportunities.

Where required, take part in team evaluations of continuous improvement opportunities.

Assist with regional and divisional process optimisation initiatives as required.



Skills, Experience & Education

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Grade 12 with Maths or Maths Literacy -Pass 40%

2. Studying towards National Diploma Chemical Engineering

3. Must be a South African Citizen

4. Must be Employment Equity candidate

5. Must not have previously completed the same qualification/learnership at another company or organisation (please check with the L&D Skills Sustainability Team if you are unsure)

6. Must have been unemployed at the time of appointment

7. Must be between 18-35 years of age. 8. Two South African Languages passed at 40%


OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Letter from the institution requesting work place experience in order for the candidate to complete their qualification.
