Bricklaying, Carpententry Training Opportunity at Garden Route District for unskilled candidates with NQF L2/ Grade 10/NCV L2


TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES IN THE GARDEN ROUTE DISTRICT

EXCITING TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR UNEMPLOYED YOUTH WHO WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE — DEPARTMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURE


The Western Cape Government (WCG) Department of Infrastructure is inviting suitably qualified applicants residing in the Garden Route District to apply for Funded Training opportunities in the Construction Sector. The Training program entails: Undergoing theoretical and practical training at a public or private TVET college; working on a building site; applying health and safety regulations; maintaining work areas; and undertaking administrative tasks.

CARPENTRY L3 (Ref. CGR)


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Between 18 and 34 years old

• Must be SA citizen

• Resident of the Garden Route District

• Must be unemployed

• BRICKLAYING: NQF L2/ Grade 10/NCV L2 with a pass in Communication and Mathematical Literacy

• CARPENTRY: NQF L3/ Grade 11/NCV L3 with a pass in Communication and Mathematical Literacy


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Applicants must enjoy good health and be willing to undergo a medical and substance abuse examination.

• Successful applicants will be required to work on a construction site as part of the training program.

• Successful applicants must be willing to travel and work at various building sites across the Western Cape.

• Successful applicants will be required to sign a 12-month Training Agreement.


STIPEND: R2 500 per month for the duration of the Training Agreement.

• Applicants can use facilities at a local Library, Thusong Centre, E-Centre Youth Café or Internet Café OR personal smartphones to register on the SA Youth.Mobi platform.

• Shortlisted candidates will be requested to upload certified copies of their ID and highest education certificate on the SAYouth.Mobi site when requested by the Department of Infrastructure.
