Job Functions Mining
Purpose of the Job:
As a General Miner you will be legal accountability for the construction and blasting in terms of the MHSA and will be required to contribute and assist the mining team with a variety of other tasks in the mining structure from moving men, material and ore to the construction areas.
Main Role Outcomes:
•Responsible for involving the team leader in proactive planning of daily tasks, as well as correctly mark charge, connect and initiate blasting, in compliance with standard procedure and legal requirements.
•The role is to manage the planning, leading, organisation and control of the production at one of the rig sections and to comply with the company’s SHE Systems.
•To manage the health and safety of employees, material and discipline.
•Focus on safe quality of work, achieving of production targets, housekeeping, supervise and coordinate support functions.
•Controlling and directing all activities of subordinates within your area of responsibility and as such takes on the role as coach, mentor and instructor.
•Grade 12 Certificate
•Valid Blasting Certificate
•Minimum of 3 years experience as a General Miner
•Ability to read and write English
•Ability to communicate with people on different levels
•Valid Certificate of physical fitness
