The purpose of this role is to provide a technical maintenance service, which ensures that an effective and efficient planned maintenance program is followed for all plant and machinery, materials handling equipment, buildings and grounds. Duties and Responsibilities: Carry out breakdown repair work on mechanical equipment Carry out planned preventative maintenance schedules as assigned Plan shutdown work on plant and equipment Complete root cause and failure analysis on prolonged and repetitive breakdowns Provide expert advice and problem-solving techniques to fellow workers Record all maintenance data ( Downtime, spares and improvement recommendations) Ensure all mechanical installations comply with requirements of OHSACT Competencies: Making Decisions Inspiring others Staying Composed Working Together Attention to Detail Minimising Risk Planning and Organising Maintaining Productivity




Experience Required: Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a Food Processing or similar FMCG environment Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act

Minimum Qualification: Matric / Grade 12 Red Seal Fitter Qualification

Additional Requirements: Understanding of the operation and maintenance of the following: o Food Processing/coating equipment ie. Cutting equipment, fryers, sealing and box erectors etc o Knowledge of Pneumatics and Hydraulics o Basic understanding of electrical circuits Root Cause Analysis
