Description Africa Health Research Institute (AHR) is recruiting 5 Clinical Research Assistant as part of a new InTSHA VIP program, (Interactive Transition Support for Adolescents Living with HIV Comparing Virtual and In-person) care delivery through a stepped-wedge cluster randomized clinical trial in South Africa (InTSHA VIP) to support adolescents living with HIV. The job will be based in primary or community healthcare clinics dispersed throughout the Durban areas. The study will determine the relative efficacy of in-person and health-based interventions when compared to standard of care in the promotion of transition readiness, measured as retention in care and viral suppression, in HIV-positive youth.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications
Grade 12 (Standard 10)
Computer literate, proficient in Ms Office, email and internet
Basic HIV counselling certificate (Ten-day course)
Adherence counselling certificate (Five-day course)
Knowledge, ability and experience of working with smart phones, tablets and applications.
Minimum Experience
1-2 years of research experience in collecting qualitative and or quantitative data capturing.
Previous experience as a community health worker or providing home-based care.
Advantageous
A good understanding of the areas from a geographic, cultural, and healthcare perspective.
Experience in HIV counselling individual and group facilitation.
GCP compliant and knowledge of medical terminology
