Description Overall Purpose Of The Job The overall purpose of a Trainee Network Administrator is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of SACAA’s IT infrastructure, particularly its servers and network systems. Proactive maintenance

  • Regular maintenance of servers and network equipment

  • Identify and implement network infrastructure needs to improve current system infrastructure.

  • Oversee and manage big, complex projects involving network deployment and operating systems.

  • Manage and oversee large complex projects that relate to network deployment and operational systems

  • Plan for current and future technical and network requirements.Implementation and upkeep of the IT Continuity Plan, including daily backups, documentation, and failure testing.

  • All network resources must be monitored, controlled, and maintained.

Liaison and Coordination Liaise with external companies/contractors/suppliers and internal clients to coordinate services and future options

  • Provide support to SACAA based external client connectivity

Operational Management

  • Report on given tasks, system activities, scheduled network maintenance, network account information, and network problems in writing.

  • Assist with report analysis, troubleshooting, and firewall maintenance, as well as Intrusion Detection Systems, Web servers, Remote Access Services, and content filtering.

  • Assist the organization in raising information security knowledge about the threats that they may expose the organization to.

  • Maintain and deploy the IT infrastructure while making sure that ICT Governance is followed.

  • Configuration management for a range of applications, servers, and networks.

Support Services

  • Ensure that the network infrastructure is constantly upgraded.

  • Configure servers, devices, and firewalls. Monitor server and network performance on both the software and hardware levels.

  • Ensure the seamless implementation of new apps throughout the organization.

Requirements Minimum Qualification National Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent and Related NQF level 6 qualification Ideal Qualification BTech, BCom (Computer Science); MCSE Diploma, A+ Comptia, N+Comptia, Azure Cloud Certification; Microsoft 365 Administrator.

Experience 1 year - Server Administrator experience 1 year - Desktop Support Technician
