Position: Practitioners: Teaching Artist Interns / Leading Artists, Fine Arts Teachers - (Non-renewal contract)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Art Teaching participate in the Visual Arts Skill Development and Art as Healing Programmes

  • Promote the Visual Arts Skills Development and Arts as Healing Programmes to the community

  • Supervision of class

  • Supervise / control use of art material and equipment in the class

  • Report problems, handle damages, loss of property, material, or equipment to the Project Manager

  • Helps to hand art material

  • Monitor working program by maintaining student attendance register and other required records

  • Execute other special requests by the Project Manager

  • The Teaching Artist Interns undertakes to perform all functions and duties associated with the position

  • The Intern will be required to submit monthly and quarterly progress reports that are required

Qualifications
 
Minimum Requirements:
 

  • Grade 12 or appropriate qualification in the field of visual arts (certificate, national diploma or degree in visual arts)

  • South African Citizen

  • Resident of City of Ekurhuleni between 18 - 35 years, but men and women over 35 years will also be considered

  • Practical art teaching experience

  • Passionate about mentoring and community service

  • Enjoy working with young artists

  • Computer Literacy
