SOCIO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INTERN, C3: SERITI COAL & POWER, VARIOUS COLLIERIES
 
INTERNAL & EXTERNAL (FIXED TERM CONTRACT)
 

 
The role:
 
The role is a developmental role, with the primary purpose being to learn through experiential learning about the Social Impact & Reporting function. The successful candidate will complete a structured development programme within 24 months to be considered to fulfil a substantial position within Seriti. This person will provide accurate business planning, analysis and reporting to support operations to manage risks and ensure internal policies, processes and standards compliance as well as adherence to the corporate governance framework and protocols.
 

 
The duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure alignment with and compliance to internal controls including company values, standards, policies, agreements, systems and procedures

  • Produce performance and other relevant reports on an operational and management level for the department

  • Prepare and analyse the performance reports, partnership agreement, as well as key performance Indicators, and provide input on initiatives that can be implemented to maintain or improve the performance of the department

  • Participate in HR and CA projects where appropriate

  • Be an advocate for internal controls, identifying and reporting on control, governance and compliance matters

  • Assist the operational and functional teams in performing root cause analysis for areas where controls failed and review control procedures to prevent reoccurrence

  • Participate in initiatives to improve the overall performance of the operations and function by optimising the utilisation of existing transformation and compliance processes, best practices and systems


 
You will need:

  • A National Diploma / Degree in Law (LLB) / Business Management or Social Sciences

  • Good understanding of Project Management

  • Organizational skills

  • Basic knowledge of labour legislation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • A strong desire to learn and grow

  • Computer skills (MS Office)

  • Valid driver’s license

  • In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness


 
Advantageous:

  • Any vacation experience or part time work

  • An understanding of transformation legislative and regulatory requirements
